Great expectations, greater loss
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, most of our beliefs are build around clichés. Seldom do we really get the opportunity to break the web of set precedents and see what more can be thought of and done by. Nothing wrong per se with sticking to the nice mould of practicality but it’s human quest to break new grounds and reinvent wheels. Each one of us, irrespective of our backgrounds and journeys, have one thing in common: we expect a lot and receive way too little in return. The reason why this is so is because by wanting more, we find our balance. If we desire less, we feel like something is missing. Turns it’s not the thing that was missing but the desire to have it.
Based on these presumptions, here are some scenarios that is worth visiting:
Always expect the media to carve a drama out of a tragedy.
Always expect a brand to post an *inappropriate* tweet during an event like this only to delete it minutes later.
Always expect the calls of vice to be louder than the songs of virtue.
Always expect the midnight coffee to spill the truth faster than wine.
Always expect the underdogs to leave you tormented.
Always expect the poets to not only exaggerate but also lie unabashedly.
Always expect the worst because the best is often hidden behind it.
Always expect to be in touch with yourself first (your school friends can wait).
Always expect humans, cows and dogs to show up out of nowhere in India.
Always expect desi parents to find god at the right time.
Always expect others to change for you although you aren't THAT important.
Always expect others to like you even though you yourself don’t like you.
Always expect the world to be as calm about something as you are.
Always expect a grand welcome when you arrive at your conclusion.
Always expect words to abandon you at the worst moment.
Always expect God to question my prayers.
Always expect real solutions for your imaginary problems.
Always expect us to look at the brighter side of things after sunset.
Always expect the unaccepted.
