Of body, by soul, in mind

What is futile now doesn’t have to remain futile later. With time, dynamics change and our understanding varies too. If we are lucky, we’d be turning mature. If not, we’d be stuck in a time zone that finds itself growingly secluded from its surrounding. Change is not a constant. The belief behind it is.
When you listen closely, you can hear yourself ask yourself again and again and again: What the fuck am I doing with my life? Chances are you’d look outside for answers; the easy way out of any given situation. Why reinvent the wheel or move the needle the wrong direction, as an MBA guy would ask. But maybe, just maybe, he could be mistaken. What if there is an undeniable need to look inside for clues because answers are too much to ask for? It’d be a long, slow, harrowing process but then, so is life. We keep on saying that life is too short for this and that… when in absolute terms, a lifetime is indeed a lifetime. And time is mostly cruel. Even if we stick around for a hundred years, it’d still nothing compared to the foreverness of everything around us.
Under such unrelenting circumstances, wouldn’t it be nice to pay attention to the greatest vehicle of all time: our body? It’s not even funny how much it gets ignored during our self-fulfilling journey. Too much abuse, to put it plainly. We do shit to ourselves and then have the audacity to call them health issues. Of course, it could be others’ fault too but how much are we responsible? More significantly, how much responsibility do we take? We tell each other to take care but in reality, it’s our body that is taking care of us. At levels we can’t comprehend, it’s making sure we go on as far as we possibly can. Perhaps it’s high tide our skins and bones received the due amount of appreciation. Yes, it’s up to an individual whether they want to treat their body like a temple or like a library. You can’t step in to the former whereas you can’t let anybody know that you’ve stepped in to the latter.
Moving on, the poets, not religion, made us realize that there could be something called soul. A piece of us so magnificent that it doesn’t even have to exist to prove a point. In today’s lexicon of human contact, soul is reserved for retirement. The youth has nothing to do with it. Except when mingling is concerned. Even the hardened types of realists throw vague glances at the two most misunderstood words in history: soul-mate. For some poetic excuses, people have trouble with what a right partner is all about. Inane phrases like match-made-in-heaven or made-for-each-other can be overheard. In all practicality, soul-mates occur when both the parties are equally invested in nurturing a relationship. They don’t need to flash a predestined voucher. They work at it and they make it happen. For all we know, our so-called soul-mate died even before bumping in to us. Which is why we should let our heart beats sync. Souls can mate later.
Lastly, thinking is not equal to worrying. Just like there is a difference between your brain and you. And these are not semantic nitpicking. Once we acknowledge the reason why we feel stressed when we do be it at work or home, we’ll climb on to a stage where we’ll know what exactly to do. As of now, we leave little to no space for the awesomest part of you: your mind. Those who meditate on a regular basis would agree. The sheer consciousness of being can’t be described in words. For instance, a butterfly randomly lands on your fingertip while you were enjoying a cuppa at your balcony and it stayed seated for 15 seconds before flying away as if nothing happened. How are you to describe that experience with utmost justice even if your brain is very smart? The fact that you can’t punch out the words is not a failure of your smartness but an attestation to the presence of mind in you. It witnessed the unfolding of an unique event and that’s more than enough. However, it waits for such instances throughout your life. Whether you think or not.
